WEST POINT, N.Y. – The storied Army-Navy rivalry returned to Michie Stadium on Saturday as the No. 15-ranked Army West Point men's lacrosse team took on the Navy Midshipmen for the latest rendition of the Army-Navy Men's Lacrosse Star Game as part of the Star Series, presented by USAA.
The 106th clash between the service academy rivals saw Army claim its 40th all-time win over the Midshipmen, giving the Army its fourth straight win in the historic matchup. The win in front of their home crowd gave Army its second straight win and 19th all-time win over the Mids at West Point.
Army put on a show in front of the largest crowd at an NCAA men's lacrosse game at West Point in program history and the largest single-game crowd at an NCAA men's lacrosse game this season as 15,156 people made the trip to Michie Stadium to take in the service academy showdown.
Evan Plunkett paced the Black Knights' offense with six points on three goals and three assists, topping his five-point performance in the Black Knights' win over Navy at Michie Stadium on April 13, 2024.
Hill Plunkett recorded five points on a game-high four goals and an assist, followed by Brayden Fountain who earned four points from a trio of goals and an assist to secure the third hat trick of the day for Army.
Sean Byrne stood in goal for Army, recording 13 saves to total 38 career saves against Navy, advancing to 3-0 over the service academy rival.
