ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy track and field teams swept the 2025 Army-Navy Outdoor Star Meet, which is part of the overall Army-Navy Star Series presented by USAA, Saturday at Ingram Field in Annapolis.
The men's team posted a 104-99 victory and the women's team claimed a 107-96 win.
It was the 13th-consecutive outdoor victory over the Black Knights for the men's team and the 10th-straight outdoor win for the women's team.
The Mids have now won 24-straight indoor / outdoor Star Meets over Army.
"Winning 24-consecutive Star Meets is impressive considering how close the meets are designed to be. This streak is a representation of all the hard work these players, staff and support staff behind the scenes puts in year-round," stated Director of Track and Field Jamie Cook.
The Midshipmen won 11 of the 19 events and scored the maximum points in five of them to post a 104-99 victory.
Army opened the meet by winning the hammer throw, long jump and 3,000m steeplechase to jump out to a quick 22-11 lead.
The Navy duo of Brian Schloeder and Gunnar Kimball earned the team's first event victory in the pole vault as they posted an identical 4.89m (16' 0.5").
The 4x100m relay team of Marcel Jackson, Nathan Kent, Jonah Johnson and Tyler Yurich won Navy's first track event of the day with a school-record time of (39.64).
"We knew how great these four men are. When thinking back of all the great sprinters that have come out of the Naval Academy, to break the school record twice this season is very impressive and I'm so happy for the group," remarked Cook.
Kent ran the second-fastest 200m mark in school history (20.81) to win the event for the third-straight time at the Star Meet.
Senior Luke Nester won his first Army-Navy outdoor event in the 1,500m with a time of 3:49.63. Nester had a big final lap as he edged out Adam Furman (3:49.95) for the close victory.
Freshman Dane Eike finished in third place in the 1,500m with a season-best mark of 3:51.78.
Senior Pete deJonge won his first individual Army-Navy event in the 400m with a season-best mark of 47.67. Jacques Guillaume (47.98) and Simon Alexander (48.68) finished shortly after deJonge to place second and third, respectively, for the Mids' first sweep of the day.
Yurich continued his big day when he ran the fastest 100m time of 10.47 for his second victory in the meet. Navy earned maximum points in the event with Jackson's (10.51) second-place finish.
