WEST POINT, N.Y. - After the first day of play, the Army West Point golf team holds a 3.5-0.5 lead over rival Navy in the Army-Navy Star Match at West Point Golf Club.
The two sides met in the four-ball portion of the competition Saturday, with the Black Knights coming out on top in three of four contests and tying their rival in the other.
Army will look to take a 2-0 lead in the Star Series presented by USAA on Sunday, when play resumes for the individual portion of the match. This portion will consist of seven head-to-head matchups, with the winning side earning a point. The first team to reach 6 points will be awarded the star.
