Army and Navy are set to battle it out as two undefeated teams in the Collegiate Sprint Football League in the annual Army-Navy Star Series, presented by USAA. The 78th meeting between the two teams takes place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7 at Shea Stadium in West Point, N.Y.
THE GAME:
This meet up pits two of the league's best teams against each other. Both teams sit atop their respective divisions with an overall record of 3-0 and 2-0 marks against divisional opponents.
Army leads the league in scoring offense, while Navy is the top rushing offense in the conference. The Black Knights are atop the standings in scoring defense and total defense, just ahead of the Midshipmen who rank second in both categories. Army leads the league in passing efficiency, whereas the Navy defense leads the way in interceptions.
Navy holds a 42-34-1 (.552) record in the all-time series with Army. The Midshipmen posted a 10-3 victory last season in Annapolis and have won two of the last three meetings. The last victory for the Mids in West Point came in 2011 as Navy posted a score of 28-6 over Army.

• Through the first three weeks, Army ranks first in the Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) in 13 categories including: scoring offense, scoring defense, total defense, rushing defense, pass defense, pass efficiency, kickoff returns, kickoff coverage, sacks by, fewest sacks against, fewest opponent first downs, opponent 4th-down conversion percentage, red zone defense.
• The Black Knights are looking for their third consecutive win over Navy at Shea Stadium.
• Firstie running back Quay Gilmore leads the league in rushing, averaging 113 yards per game with six touchdowns and 226 yards on 26 carries.
• Cow quarterback Keegan West has also been among the top players in the league, completing 31-of-51 passes for 437 yards through the air and five touchdowns.
• Defensively, firstie defensive lineman Curtis Jerzerick is tied for the most sacks in the league with four in three contests. He has totaled six tackles for a loss of 37 yards.
NAVY (3-0, 2-0 CSFL South)
• Navy has the league's best rushing offense, averaging 218.3 yards per game.
• The Midshipmen have recorded a CSFL-high five interceptions with Mason Hooten leading the team with two.
• Navy's offense is guided by quarterback Brandon Coleman, who leads the offense in both passing and rushing.
• Coleman is 20-for-36 through the air for 288 yards and a touchdown while adding 56 yards on 20 carries and four rushing touchdowns.
• Matt Vogel leads the Midshipmen in receiving, hauling in six passes for 87 yards.
• Kicker Jared Swenson has made 6-of-7 field goal attempts on the season, while hitting all 11 of his PATs.
