Navy Clinches Third Straight Star Series over Army

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- After sweeping the weekend and claiming two more Stars on the year, the U.S. Naval Academy has clinched the 2016-17 Star Series presented by USAA with a 13-9 advantage over Army.

The Mids held an 8-2 lead in the series after the first semester break with wins in women's soccer, golf, volleyball, men's and women's cross country, sprint football as well as men's and women's swimming before the Black Knights staged a comeback that fell short.

On the second half of the year, Navy has earned Stars in women's basketball, men's and women's outdoor track, men's lacrosse and in men's tennis. Baseball will be played April 22-23 on Army's campus.
