Navy's No. 3 team of Krishna Jana (Sr., Seabrook, Texas) and Aries Wong (Jr., Bethesda, Md.) won the first match to finish, a 6-2 decision at the No. 3 flight over Myles Conlin and Nikita Pereverzin. Army evened the results at one match each with a 6-3 victory at the No. 1 flight by Michael Nguyen and Grant Riechmann over Greg Durham (Fr., Melbourne Beach, Fla.) and Thomas Pecor (Sr., Houston, Texas). The Mids secured the doubles point on a 6-3 win by Zach Jennings (Fr., Snellville, Ga.) and Greg Pilones (Fr., Bradenton, Fla.) over Sam Lampmann and Gregory Shannon at No. 2 doubles.
The Black Knights tied the match at 1-1 as Nguyen defeated Pecor, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 1 singles. The Mids regained the lead thanks to Jennings defeating Conlin, 6-2, 6-3, at No. 5 singles. The Navy lead increased to 3-1 after Matthew Lee (Fr., San Diego, Calif.) defeated Pereverzin, 6-2, 7-5, at No. 6 singles. Pilones clinched the match for the Mids when he posted a 4-6, 7-5, 6-1 victory over David Mitchell at the No. 4 flight.
