ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The 2016-17 Star Series presented by USAA continues Saturday afternoon in Annapolis, Md., when the Army and Navy men's lacrosse teams hit the field for the 98th contest overall between the two programs that dates back to 1924.

The Midshipmen have won the last two regular season games over the Black Knights, but Army has claimed the victory in the Patriot League Semifinals in both years. Overall, Navy leads 54-32-3 in the Star Series and have won 13 of the last 19.
No. 6/8 Army enters the weekend on a nine-game winning streak and is 10-1 on the year. The Black Knights boast a flawless 6-0 mark in Patriot League play with two weekends of the regular season remaining. Navy is 5-7 overall and 3-4 in conference games.
Army comes into Saturday's game as the second-ranked defense in the nation, allowing only 7.09 goals per game. This has also allowed the Black Knights to be second in the country in scoring margin as well at 5.09 goals. The defense is anchored by the goalie and AJ Barretto ranks fifth nationally with a 7.37 goals against average.
Saturday's contest features two of the top four faceoff specialists in the country in seniors Dan Grabher from Army and Brady Dove from Navy. Dove stands #3 nationally having won 67.4 percent (147-218) of his draws this season, while Grabher is right behind in fourth with a 67.2 winning percentage (129-192). Dove stands third all-time in the Patriot League in career wins with 615, while Grabher is just outside of the top 10 with 415.
