WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point rifle team took down Navy, 5823-5788, in the annual Star Meet to capture its eighth straight victory over the Mids as part of the Army-Navy Star Series, presented by USAA.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGGREGATE (4,672-4,629):
- The Black Knights captured three of the top four spots in aggregate scoring. Army was led by Marvin Lewis (1,177) who championed the event and posted the top mark for the Cadets for the second straight week.
- Danielle Cuomo came in second with a score of 1,172 followed by Nathan Brewer in fourth tallying 1,162.
- Payne Nunn rounded out the rest of the scoring for Army amassing a total of 1,152.
HOW IT HAPPENED SMALLBORE (2,328-2,282):
- Lewis led the field in smallbore shooting 588.
- Brewer placed third tallying 582, and Cuomo placed fourth with a score of 581.
- Allen Solida rounded out the scoring for the Cadets totaling 577.
HOW IT HAPPENED AIR RIFLE (2,344-2,347):
- The story is no different in air rifle but this time Cuomo is a top the podium with a score of 591.
- Lewis came in second tallying 589, Nunn placed sixth with 584 and Brewer placed eighth accumulating 580.
