Men's Hoops Star Game Set for Saturday

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Navy men's basketball takes the court Saturday afternoon looking for the season sweep and the Star in a matchup with the Black Knights on CBS Sports Network at 1:30 p.m.

Heading into Saturday's matchup the Mids have a slim 8-6 in the Star Series, presented by USAA, so the men's and women's doubleheader on Saturday is an important one.

MIDS IN THIRD WITH THREE TO PLAY
The Navy men's basketball team sits in third place in the Patriot League standings at 10-5 with three games to play. Bucknell is alone in first place at 12-3 and is followed by Boston University at 11-4. Navy has a one-game lead on fourth-place Lehigh (9-6). Navy is coming off a 74-55 loss at Lehigh on Wednesday evening.

ARMY LOOKS TO GAIN MOMENTUM
The Black Knights snapped a three-game losing skid with a 52-47 win at Holy Cross on Wednesday. Army had dropped games to Loyola (78-63), Colgate (78-50) and American (61-58) prior to the win against the Crusaders. The Black Knights like to shoot it from deep and they rank first in the Patriot League in 3-pointers made per game (9.2) and assists per game (16.1).

THE SERIES
Navy has won three straight Star Games against Army, including a 64-50 win at West Point earlier this season. The Mids posted a 67-59 win over Army in the last Star Game played in Annapolis on Feb. 7, 2015. Navy leads the overall series, 78-48, and leads the Star Series, 56-37.

TICKETS
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for youth online in advance of the game at NavySports.com. Limited tickets remain on sale for the doubleheader that also features the Army-Navy women's game at 11 a.m. The Alumni Hall Ticket Office will open at 9:30 a.m.

USNA VEHICLE ACCESS
Vehicle access to the U.S. Naval Academy is limited to those with a Department of Defense identification card. It is suggested that everyone else park at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium ($5. per vehicle) and ride the free shuttle bus to and from the game. Shuttle bus service will begin at 9:30 a.m. Note that a government issued identification card must be carried and presented by visitors ages 18 and older to the USNA prior to being allowed onto The Yard. Visitors from Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, New Mexico or Washington State, must produce their driver's license AND a second ID card before being admitted.
