Army-Navy Game Earns Highest Rating in 22 Years

NEW YORK - CBS Sports' coverage of the 117th Army-Navy Game, presented by USAA on Saturday, which saw Army beat Navy for the first time since 2001, scored its highest rating in 22 years with an average overnight household rating/share of 5.6/13, up 10 percent from last year's 5.1/12 in the metered markets.

Saturday's 5.6/13 was the highest rating since a 6.5/19 on Dec. 3, 1994. The 117th edition of the game peaked at a 6.9/14 rating from 6:00-6:30 p.m. ET.

Overnights for the game have now increased for six consecutive seasons. Since moving to the week after the conference championship games in 2009, the rivalry has topped a 4.0 overnight in seven of eight years.

The Army West Point football team recorded a long awaited victory over No. 25 Navy, 21-17.

Army ended a 14-year unbeaten streak in the series in front of 71,600 fans at M&T Bank Stadium and secured its first win in the rivalry game since earning a 26-17 win in the 2001 game.
